Working alongside you to make sure the installation is completed within the customer’s preferred time scale. The service can be utilised by installers from all walks of life, from non-MCS installers working to achieve accreditation, to those who are looking to reduce project workloads.
We will manage the key elements of an Air source heat pump MCS accreditation. During the process, Green Energy Homes takes full MCS responsibility for the sizing, specification, commissioning and MCS registration of domestic installations.
Using an MCS umbrella scheme lets plumbing and heating professionals concentrate on their installations and looking after their customer, knowing the design and MCS compliance of the heat pump installation has been carefully supported by a specialist.
MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) is the industry standard for design and installation of air
source and ground source heat pumps.
It is an independent scheme that certifies renewable products
such as heat pumps, as well as their installers to maintain standards within the industry.
Launched in May 2022, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) provides grants of £7,500 for air source, and ground source heat pump MCS certified installations, when replacing an existing fossil fuel boiler or direct electric heating system.
Self-build and renovation projects where a heat pump is being installed also qualify.
All qualifying heat pump installations must be MCS accredited for customers to benefit from the BUS scheme payment.
The new BUS scheme has generated a lot of interest in heat pumps, with more and more
homeowners considering replacing their existing gas or oil boilers.
If your existing customers are considering the switch to a low-carbon heating system like a heat pump, and you are a non-MCS accredited heating professional, you can still help your client make the switch without going through the time consuming and costly process of gaining MCS accreditation yourself, by using an MCS umbrella scheme.
