Underfloor Heating
Professional underfloor heating installation delivering efficient, low-temperature heating and consistent, comfortable performance throughout your home.
Planning new floors in Clacton-on-Sea is an ideal opportunity to consider comfortable, low-temperature heating. Green Energy Homes establishes the floor, output and control requirements before products are specified.
The client receives a property-specific recommendation rather than a standard square-metre package. Our underfloor heating service explains the wider wet and electric options.

Electric underfloor heating can bring welcome comfort to selected rooms when it suits the way the space is used. Mats or cables can suit a bathroom or limited retrofit, but simpler installation does not guarantee lower running cost. We explain the choices clearly so you can decide what feels right for your property and plans.
A useful proposal should explain the complete job, giving you a clearer basis for your decision. Cost and duration depend heavily on what lies below the existing finish and when other trades release the floor. The recommendation is then set out clearly, with comfort, practicality and long-term use in mind.
Good controls help the floor deliver steady, comfortable warmth without constant adjustment. Weather compensation, thermostats and schedules should support steady operation rather than repeated short boosts, with each zone adjusted for its construction and use. This gives you a considered solution rather than a one-size-fits-all package.
Room-by-room control lets you heat the spaces you use without treating the whole property in exactly the same way. Bedrooms, open-plan rooms and home offices do not necessarily need heat together, so circuits and thermostats reflect actual use. You will understand what is proposed, why it suits the property and what the work will involve.
Before you start using the floor, we make sure the system has been checked and explain how to operate it. Controls are demonstrated at handover, with concealed pipe or cable positions recorded for later work. Our aim is to make the technical decisions straightforward and give you confidence in the finished system.

Heated area is only one factor. System type, preparation, insulation, controls, number of zones, manifold or electrical work, floor finish, access and coordination with other trades all influence the quotation.
The answer depends on heated area, floor construction, heat source, hours of use and available build-up. Water systems are often considered for larger integrated projects; electric products can suit smaller targeted areas, but tariffs and running pattern matter.
Many tile, stone, engineered timber, laminate, vinyl and carpet products can be compatible. The product temperature limit, adhesive, underlay and combined thermal resistance must follow the relevant manufacturers’ instructions.
Not necessarily. Running cost depends on electricity tariff, heated area, insulation, set temperature and operating hours. Electric systems can be practical for limited rooms, but installation convenience should not be confused with guaranteed energy savings.
Potentially, but only where calculated floor output meets each room’s design heat loss. Fixed furniture, glazing and restrictive finishes reduce active output; supplementary emitters may still be appropriate in some rooms.
Some suspended floors can accept between-joist or over-floor systems. Joist layout, contact plates, insulation, ventilation, access and achievable output need inspection; original boards should not be lifted without an agreed method.
