Underfloor Heating
Professional underfloor heating installation delivering efficient, low-temperature heating and consistent, comfortable performance throughout your home.
Underfloor heating can make a Rayleigh renovation or extension feel comfortable, uncluttered and easy to control. We treat each construction and zone separately, especially where connecting new work to retained floors without uneven comfort could otherwise produce uneven response or impractical finished levels.
Green Energy Homes reviews the Rayleigh floor build-up alongside the heat source and proposed covering. The aim is a system that can be installed, commissioned and later controlled as designed.

An extension should feel naturally connected to the rest of your home, with warmth suited to the new space. Glazing, insulation and peak use can justify separate zoning rather than copying the radiator schedule in an adjoining room. You will understand what is proposed, why it suits the property and what the work will involve.
Suspended timber floors need the right approach to deliver comfort while protecting the existing construction. Between-joist arrangements need continuous contact and suitable output; a solid-floor assumption cannot be transferred to timber construction. Our aim is to make the technical decisions straightforward and give you confidence in the finished system.
Good controls help the floor deliver steady, comfortable warmth without constant adjustment. Weather compensation, thermostats and schedules should support steady operation rather than repeated short boosts, with each zone adjusted for its construction and use. We explain the choices clearly so you can decide what feels right for your property and plans.
Room-by-room control lets you heat the spaces you use without treating the whole property in exactly the same way. Bedrooms, open-plan rooms and home offices do not necessarily need heat together, so circuits and thermostats reflect actual use. The recommendation is then set out clearly, with comfort, practicality and long-term use in mind.
Before you start using the floor, we make sure the system has been checked and explain how to operate it. Controls are demonstrated at handover, with concealed pipe or cable positions recorded for later work. This gives you a considered solution rather than a one-size-fits-all package.

The answer depends on heated area, floor construction, heat source, hours of use and available build-up. Water systems are often considered for larger integrated projects; electric products can suit smaller targeted areas, but tariffs and running pattern matter.
Many tile, stone, engineered timber, laminate, vinyl and carpet products can be compatible. The product temperature limit, adhesive, underlay and combined thermal resistance must follow the relevant manufacturers’ instructions.
Not necessarily. Running cost depends on electricity tariff, heated area, insulation, set temperature and operating hours. Electric systems can be practical for limited rooms, but installation convenience should not be confused with guaranteed energy savings.
Potentially, but only where calculated floor output meets each room’s design heat loss. Fixed furniture, glazing and restrictive finishes reduce active output; supplementary emitters may still be appropriate in some rooms.
Some suspended floors can accept between-joist or over-floor systems. Joist layout, contact plates, insulation, ventilation, access and achievable output need inspection; original boards should not be lifted without an agreed method.
Often, subject to subfloor condition, insulation, doors, stairs and finished-floor height. Low-profile or between-joist systems may help in some buildings, although a heat-loss and output check is still required.
