Underfloor Heating
Professional underfloor heating installation delivering efficient, low-temperature heating and consistent, comfortable performance throughout your home.
Create a warmer, more comfortable Sawbridgeworth home without giving valuable wall space to radiators. That is when insulation, finished levels, pipe or cable routes and controls can be coordinated without avoidable later alteration.
Our underfloor heating design and installation service brings these decisions into one scope, from heat-loss information and preparation through to controls and handover.

Older properties can feel warmer and more comfortable when their construction is understood and respected. A reversible route and limited added height can be as important as nominal heating output. This gives you a considered solution rather than a one-size-fits-all package.
A retrofit can be practical when the available height and the condition of the existing floor are checked first. Reduced-height products can help, but they cannot compensate for inadequate insulation or an output shortfall. You will understand what is proposed, why it suits the property and what the work will involve.
Electric underfloor heating can bring welcome comfort to selected rooms when it suits the way the space is used. Mats or cables can suit a bathroom or limited retrofit, but simpler installation does not guarantee lower running cost. Our aim is to make the technical decisions straightforward and give you confidence in the finished system.
Good controls help the floor deliver steady, comfortable warmth without constant adjustment. Weather compensation, thermostats and schedules should support steady operation rather than repeated short boosts, with each zone adjusted for its construction and use. We explain the choices clearly so you can decide what feels right for your property and plans.
Before you start using the floor, we make sure the system has been checked and explain how to operate it. Controls are demonstrated at handover, with concealed pipe or cable positions recorded for later work. The recommendation is then set out clearly, with comfort, practicality and long-term use in mind.

Curing and initial heating must follow the screed, adhesive, floor-covering and heating-system instructions. Commissioning too early or raising temperature too quickly can damage the floor build-up.
There is no single figure. Insulation, boards or screed, levelling, adhesive and the final covering all contribute. The complete build-up should be agreed before thresholds, kitchens, stairs and adjoining finishes are fixed.
Heated area is only one factor. System type, preparation, insulation, controls, number of zones, manifold or electrical work, floor finish, access and coordination with other trades all influence the quotation.
The answer depends on heated area, floor construction, heat source, hours of use and available build-up. Water systems are often considered for larger integrated projects; electric products can suit smaller targeted areas, but tariffs and running pattern matter.
Many tile, stone, engineered timber, laminate, vinyl and carpet products can be compatible. The product temperature limit, adhesive, underlay and combined thermal resistance must follow the relevant manufacturers’ instructions.
Not necessarily. Running cost depends on electricity tariff, heated area, insulation, set temperature and operating hours. Electric systems can be practical for limited rooms, but installation convenience should not be confused with guaranteed energy savings.
